Another College Student with a Blog

November 11, 2016 by Taylor Kay 2 Comments

I think there’s a part of me that has always wanted to be one of those incredibly successful fashion/lifestyle bloggers, who is constantly posting glamorous pictures and always has her life put together (or at least always makes it look that way on social media). As a result, it’s always been a dream of mine to start a blog like that – to appear as the epitome of having-my-life-together and still managing to somehow look flawless at all times. However, I’ve come to realize that a) my life is not quite that put-together at all times, and b) I’m entirely too blunt about everything to maintain that façade on social media.

So instead, I’ve started this blog. Now, if you’re reading this and wondering, “what genre is this new blog of yours supposed to be exactly?” I’m afraid I don’t have a clear answer for you. I’ve created this, in part, to document my upcoming experiences abroad, because this will undoubtedly conserve a ton of oxygen as I won’t need to tell every single friend and family member about every single adventure I go on. But it’s going to be more than that, because in an ideal world, I’d like to keep this little thing going even after I get home.

I don’t know exactly what I’ll be writing about – it’ll probably just be whatever strikes my fancy that day (there might be a fair amount of rants and for that I apologize). There might be some fashion/lifestyle things as well, but at the end of the day I’m a college student and dressing fashionably and living glamorously don’t exactly make it high up on my priority list. But I do want a way to write about my life and experiences, and a place like this seems pretty fitting for that purpose. And finally, I’d love for this blog to be a chance to inspire and motivate others as they chase their own dreams as well. I make no claims to be the most interesting person in the world, or even an interesting person at all, but hey, I’m doing stuff and writing about it. So if this blog gets a ton of readers, that’s great; if not, I’m still going to be having a heck of a lot of fun writing it.

xo, Taylor

I just got caught up on your blog, and I so enjoy “listening” to your voice again! There is one mistake that I see… you have always been an inspiration. This just furthers your reach. 🙂
