My Bucket List - Espresso and Ambition

As I’m writing this post, I’m actually a bit unsure as to whether or not it’ll actually go up in time. Georgia’s currently getting hit with the remnants of Hurricane Irma, and our power is being a bit unreliable thanks to the wind and heavy rains. (Update: had to drive to a nearby Barnes and Noble for Wi-Fi but this is going up on Tuesday so it’s all good!) Anyways, I got the idea for this post from seeing it on a few other blogs, and I thought it’d be fun to create my own bucket list. Plus, putting this up on my blog keeps me accountable and it’ll be fun to do some updates over the years.

 

Travel

  • Go to all 7 continents (North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica)
  • Visit more major U.S. cities (New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington DC, Nashville, Charleston, New Orleans, Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Miami)
  • Live in another country (United Kingdom for 3 months)My Bucket List - Espresso and Ambition
  • Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef
  • Go back to Europe (I still want to see Croatia and Greece!)
  • Visit the UN Headquarters
  • Fly first class on an international flight
  • Hike the Grand Canyon
  • Go on a cruise (booked one for March 2018)
  • See the Olympics

 

School/Work

  • Get all A’s senior year
  • Graduate summa cum laude from the University of Georgia

  • Take the LSAT
  • Move to DC and get a job there
  • Get into law school
  • Graduate from law school and pass the bar exam

 

Blog

  • Have a post go viral on Pinterest (the cooler painting one)
  • Earn a consistent income from blogging
  • Start making YouTube videos
  • Get published somewhere other than the blog

 

Harry Potter (yes, I’m dedicating a whole category to this)

  • Visit Harry Potter World in Florida
  • See the WB Studio in London
  • Visit Harry Potter World in California
  • Get a Harry Potter tattoo
  • Go to the midnight premieres of all the new movies (Fantastic Beasts)

  • Name a dog (or child idk) after one of the characters

 

Fitness

  • Run a marathon
  • Do the Disney Princess Glass Slipper Challenge (10k on day 1, half marathon on day 2)
  • Start meditating regularly

 

Random

  • Adopt a corgi
  • Go skydiving
  • Get scuba certified
  • Throw a party for my 21st birthday
  • Read 50 books in a year (my current New Year’s resolution)
  • Learn how to make latte art

 

So there you have it – my current bucket list. I’m excited to use this to keep myself accountable to do more fun things, and I hope it’s given you some inspiration for some items to add to your personal bucket list.

    You’ve already crossed quite a few items off your list, and you’re still so young, great job! I’d love to visit all 7 continents too, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to visiting Antarctica when there’s so many other places I want to visit first.

    Good luck with reading 50 books in a year! It seems like a lot, but I think you can do it. I read 64 last year and was so proud of myself. One year I hope to do 100!

without heavy weights, it’s sometimes a little c without heavy weights, it’s sometimes a little challenging to really feel like i’m working at my full potential on leg days 😶 enter: single-leg movements. since all the weight is in one leg, you’re putting way more emphasis on it than you do during two-leg movements - and you’ll definitely feel that 🔥 you also get some added bonuses in the form of ensuring you’re working each side of your body equally AND a balance challenge!!

you can add in weights or bands to up the challenge level, or do it all bodyweight like i am here!
.
1️⃣ 15 single-leg box squats per leg (use other leg as a kickstand for an easier modification!)
.
2️⃣ 15 bulgarian split squats per leg
.
3️⃣ 15 single-leg hip thrusts per leg
.
4️⃣ 15 single-leg deadlifts per leg
.
throw on at the end of a longer leg day workout or do it 3-4 times as a workout all on its own!!

🖤 go easy on yourself 🖤 this is a weird time 🖤 go easy on yourself 🖤 this is a weird time to be alive, and it’s more important now than ever to listen to your body and stop being so hard on yourself. motivation is a fickle thing and working out when you don’t have all the equipment you love is weird. give yourself permission to take a break when you need it. don’t beat yourself up for missing workouts - exercise should be something you do because it makes you happy, not because you feel like you have to punish yourself. if it doesn’t make you happy that day, that’s okay. give yourself a break, come back and try again tomorrow. 💪🏼
circuit-style upper body workout 🖤 honestly not circuit-style upper body workout 🖤 honestly not kidding about how much i love this long resistance band, it’s so versatile! definitely worth getting your hands on one for home workouts 😊 (although almost all of these can be completely with dumbbells or heavy objects if that’s what you’ve got in hand)

upper body circuit ‼️ i’ve been gravitating upper body circuit ‼️ i’ve been gravitating towards circuit-style workouts lately, because they really work up a sweat and home workouts just don’t feel as legit to me unless i’m hardcore sweating 🤷🏼‍♀️ i don’t mind not breaking much of a sweat at the gym, but it feels weird not to when i’m working out at home - anyone else feel this or am i just weird?? 😅

do all exercises back to back with no rest in between!

got a circuit-style leg workout for you today! 🥳 there are 3 sets of 3 exercises that you’ll complete back-to-back - once you’ve done those three moves, rest for 30 seconds before repeating them all over again 2 more times! rest for 1-2 minutes in between each circuit - keeping your heart rate up is the goal here, i was driiiiiiipping sweat by the end of this one 🥵
