Setting up my apartment bedroom has really been a long-term project – I’ve lived in the same apartment since the start of junior year but I’ve never really been 100% satisfied with the way that my room looked. After a few random online orders placed while I was still up in DC, I think I’ve finally gotten my bedroom looking pretty much the way that I want it. I’m super excited to be sharing some pictures that’ll hopefully give y’all a little inspiration for updating your current living space or for decorating a new apartment/dorm/bedroom in the future.
Here’s what the room looks like as a whole – it’s kind of got a black, white, and gold color scheme, with pops of other colors thrown in as well. This particular picture is also a great moment to play “how many corgis does Taylor have in her bedroom.” The answer is four.
Bed
Here’s my bed! Most of the bedding is from Target, with the exception of the gold pillows from Etsy and the “All Black Everything” pillow from Dormify (you can get 20% off your Dormify purchase by clicking here). I also recently got this bed tray from Dormify as well, and while it doesn’t serve any real functional purpose, I just love the way it looks. I feel like it makes the whole bed look a little more made-up, don’t you think?
Above the Bed
Decorating above my bed took way too long. Originally, I wanted to do a canvas, but I never got around to painting it. So instead, I put this shelf up. It’s a great way to display some of my book collection and a few other random items. Side note: those succulents have stayed alive for over a month now! That’s a record for me (I’m terrible with plants).
Nightstand
Next up is my little nightstand area. I’ve got my Ralph and George (my favorite Instagram corgis) calendar, and I keep my current books on my nightstand. I’ve recently started reading books on my iPad as well, so I keep it here too. Also, isn’t my glasses holder the cutest?
Dresser
On the other side of my bed resides the world’s heaviest dresser. No, seriously. It took my entire family to put it upright after we assembled it, and my dad swore he’s never moving it anywhere ever again. So to whoever gets my apartment next, enjoy your free dresser. The dresser top contains more fake flowers, a few books, and another cute quote.
Closets
I somehow got lucky enough to have two closets – the one on the left is where I keep all of my clothes, and the other is a storage area where I can keep my makeup, jewelry, sheets/towels, and more. I also picked up these fun art prints while I was in DC to spice up this wall – my 3 favorite drinks!
Desk
I’m not going to lie, my desk is easily my favorite part of my room. Not only do I just love displaying school supplies (can you spot some of the items from my school supplies post?), but I’m a huge fan of the world map overhead and the desk chair is fantastic. In case you were wondering, all of my furniture (minus the dresser) is from IKEA.
Bathroom
Finally, here’s a little peek into my bathroom. Nothing super exciting, but it’s a nice continuation of the color scheme.
Hope you enjoyed that little peek into what my life in my little apartment looks like!
xo, Taylor
Exactly what I was searching for, thanks for putting up.
Great tour and lovely room! Congrats on your work and I love the pillows!
