I’m all for little things that simplify my beauty routine. I’ve been getting gel or SNS nails for about 2 years now – it’s one of those things that makes me feel more put-together even on my most stressful days. I’m totally content with paying a little extra for the long-lasting convenience that things like this provide. The latest beauty shortcut I’ve discovered is a lash lift, and let me tell you, I’m in love. I decided to do a little post about it today, so that anyone considering something like this has an idea of what to expect.
The Process
I got my lashes done at a place here in Athens called Eye Candy Lash & Brow Bar. They also offer lash extensions, but I’m not quite ready to commit myself to something quite that expensive and that requires so much upkeep. A lash lift is kind of the middle ground between au natural and extensions. The best way I can describe it is a perm for your lashes. Essentially, it’s similar to when you use an eyelash curler, but they stay like that for longer. There’s also a tinting process involved, and all in all it takes about an hour and 15 minutes.
The Result

Y’all, I can’t brag on this procedure enough. I haven’t worn mascara in 3 weeks, and I used to never leave the house without it. My eyes look much more open (and they’re squinty as heck normally), and I don’t have to worry about the black bleeding all over my under-eye area. It’s kind of pricey (mine was $75) and I wouldn’t say you manage to save all of that money, but I’m a huge fan of the convenience of it all. If you’re in the mood for a “treat yo’self” moment, this is it.
This post is ending up shorter than what I usually write, but I just wanted a chance to brag on the convenience of this process and give a little more background on what it does. I’ve seen so many posts about eyelash extensions, but when I went to look up what I was getting myself into with a lash lift, I didn’t find as much. So hopefully, if this is something you’re considering, you have a bit more information about whether or not it’s worth it. I’d recommend it, but more as a treat for yourself rather than a money-saving beauty hack.
Final plug: I’ve made some changes to my monthly newsletter, and it’s a bit more chit-chat-esque than my usual blog posts. If you want more of the behind-the-scenes info about my life, that’s where you’re going to find it. Of course, you can only get it if you’re subscribed to my email list, which you can do here!
