I’m a huge fan of this fall’s fashion trends, but I can’t help but notice that they’re all a bit reminiscent of a different decade. When I put this outfit together, I almost laughed – between the hoop earrings, velvet tank top, and crocheted shawl, I feel like something straight out of the 1970’s. I’m a huge fan of the velvet look – there’s something so fun about it (and it makes me feel a bit like I’m an 8-year-old in a dance uniform again).
I’m a huge fan of this outfit though. Despite constantly describing my fashion sense as borderline preppy, I’ve definitely been getting into some more “boho” looks lately. Despite this, I’ve stuck to my roots on the bottom half of this outfit: skinny jeans and black ballet flats. Oh, and yes, I went blonder! The ends of my hair are close to platinum at this point and I’m loving it.
I’d also like to take a moment to say how grateful I am for the plentiful artsy brick walls that Athens has to offer. This shoot was originally going to take place in a sunflower field, but given that it rained all day when I shot this look, I had to find something a bit more protected from the elements. What you don’t see in this photo shoot is that about 3 feet away from me it was pouring rain.

What trends are you getting into this fall?

Cute outfit! I definitely get the whole “little kid in dance class” vibe – my favorite leotards were that velvety texture.
This look is super cute! I love your velvet cami top it goes so well with your lace cardigan! 🙂
