Alright, it’s time for a life update. I’ve been engrossed in studying and writing papers for the past week or so, and have been cranking out content on the blog to keep up with my posting schedule. But now, I have a little bit more time and can sit down to write this chit-chatty post to let y’all know what’s going on in my life right now. (I don’t know about y’all, but I love reading these types of posts… maybe I’m just nosy, lol.)
Update # 1: I’ve got an internship for the spring!
I hinted at this in a couple blog posts and in a past newsletter, but I’ve got an internship in Atlanta this spring! I’ll be splitting my week between classes in Athens and working in Atlanta, so I’m preparing for a lot of time in the car. Good thing I love political podcasts and audiobooks, haha. I’ll be working at the Carter Center, which is a human rights NGO. I’ll be doing a bunch of social media and website work with them, which is basically my dream job – I’m combining my academic passion for women’s rights and human rights with the skills I’ve picked up from this blogging hobby of mine.
Update # 2: I love the gym
When I posted about my new fitness routine, I mentioned that I generally feel a little uncomfortable in the gym. I’m somewhat on the scrawny side (especially compared to the huge guys in the free weights area), but I’ve been getting over that anxiety and really falling in love with my gym time. I’ve been writing my own workouts and ooooooh gurl, they are fire. And by fire I mean I’m usually dead by the time I leave the gym.
Also, I’m surprising even myself by not doing that much cardio. I love strength training, and I think I’m trying to focus on building muscle right now more so than losing weight. So the cardio is a little toned down and the weightlifting is a little toned up.
Update #3: I had the best weekend of my life
December 1 and 2 will probably forever go down as my favorite days ever. On that Friday, I had my 21st birthday party, which was SO MUCH FUN. So many of my closest friends were there, and I successfully crossed off every task on my “sign” that night. (Is that a thing outside of the South? Where you get a sign with 21 tasks on it and are supposed to accomplish them all by the end of the night?) On Saturday, I went to Atlanta for the SEC Championship, and the Dawgs DOMINATED. Seriously, it was the greatest football game of my life and I’m so happy I got to see it in person.
Update #4: I’m in Florida for Christmas break
My parents have been renting a beach house in Sarasota, so I came down on Wednesday to join them here for Christmas. My grandparents live 10 minutes away from here too; it’s wonderful to be back with my family for the holidays. I’m also digging the warm weather – I’m very much a cold weather gal normally, but being able to walk around outside in just leggings and a T-shirt is a luxury.
Update #5: My skin is on a makeup detox
I like to give my skin time to breath every once in a while, so I’ve been going makeup-free most days this past week. It’s weird to see myself in pictures without eye makeup on, but I can already tell that my skin is happy for the break.

Update #6: I think I like my hair curled more than straight
Going on the theme of beauty-related topics, I’ve started curling my hair on a regular basis. My hair tends to like the concept of curling more than it does staying straight, so it makes my hair routine simpler. It’s also allowing me to go longer without washing my hair – my hair was getting incredibly oily and I realized that it’s because I’ve been over-washing it. I started going longer without a wash, and the problem has gotten so much better.
Update #7: I literally have nothing to do for the next 3 weeks
Y’all, this kind of witchcraft never happens. I’m done with school, I’m in between internships, and I don’t have any other major projects I need to be working on. Essentially, all my focus is going to be put on reading, watching Netflix, and updating the blog. I’m excited to (finally) recharge.
xo, Taylor
Yay for having a chilling winter break! I’m almost done too, I have my last exam on Monday morning and then almost a month (I think) of winding down a little. I definitely still have work to do for my masters thesis but it’ll be a lot more relaxed. That’s so exciting that you found an internship that allows you to combine your passions and interests.
I’d love to see more fitness content. It’s always inspiring to see how other people workout.

I’m definitely hoping to start incorporating more fitness content soon! I just want to make sure I really know what I’m doing before I start trying to give advice to anyone else, haha.
