I am such a creature of habit. Once I find products that work for me, I’m incredibly hesitant to change them. This applies to my choices of vitamins and workout supplements – I use the same brands every time. So let’s talk about the ones I love.
Vitamins: CareOf
Multivitamins are great and all, but they’re kind of a one-size-fits-all solution to a problem that’s usually pretty different for every person. Enter CareOf, which is a customizable vitamin pack based on your lifestyle. Since I’m a vegetarian and I eat a diet that’s pretty dense in fruits/veggies. So a lot of the vitamins included in traditional multivitamins aren’t the things my body really needs. Instead, I need things like B12 and Omega-3s, that I don’t get in my food naturally.
I get a custom pack each month that includes: Veggie Omega, Calcium/Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin C. They’re all picked for me based on my diet and activity level, so I’m not just taking a one-size-fits-all vitamin.
Preworkout: PEScience Prolific
Honestly, preworkout is my savior some days. I’m pretty good about going to the gym on a regular basis, but sometimes you need a little extra boost to get your butt off the couch. Enter: caffeine. I personally prefer preworkout to any other caffeinated drink (like coffee), because you don’t have to drink quite so much liquid to get the right amount of energy, and plus they’re typically loaded with other ingredients to energize you and give you a better quality workout.
BCAAs: Scivation Xtend
Y’all, there are some BCAA blends that taste kinda bitter – but not these. They taste like a sports drink (my fave flavor is green apple) and I love having them with me during my workouts. Basically, BCAAs are the building blocks of protein, so consuming them in conjunction with working out is really great if you’re trying to build muscle.
Protein Powder: Quest
If I’m drinking a protein shake, I want it to be mostly protein. Quest protein powder is like 88% protein – that is, 88% of the calories in it come from protein and not other stuff. I usually do 12 ounces of water, 8 ounces of non-dairy milk (my current fave is Rippl), and 1.5 scoops of Quest Protein Powder. (This stuff is also great to throw in recipes as well for a lil protein boost.)
And those are the things that keep me running! Well, those and actual food, haha. Have you tried any of these? Or do you have any other favorite vitamins/supplements? Let me know!
xo, Taylor
