It’s been a while since I’ve done a full-blown life update on here! But honestly, one is majorly overdue, given how many updates I have. First off is the obvious one…
I graduated college!
So yeah, this one technically happened over two months ago. But I was also taking summer classes with my study abroad program, and I only just submitted my last paper this past week. So now, I’m done for real. And going on the theme of exciting things that happened this week…
I moved to DC!
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you probably remember that I was interning in DC last summer, and I absolutely fell in love with the city. At the start of my senior year, I knew that I wanted to do whatever it took to end up back in this city again. So last Monday, my dad and I packed up almost everything I own into a U-Haul and drove up to DC. I’m living it up in an Airbnb at the moment, but I’ve got a really great little studio apartment that I’m moving into this week. (Don’t worry, there will definitely be an apartment tour or something once I get settled in.)
I’m starting a new job!
As this post is going live, I’m probably in the middle of commuting to my first day of work. I’m working for a great organization doing digital political advertising – alongside the fitness and organization stuff I talk about on this blog, I’m also really passionate about a lot of political issues, so this job description is really right up my alley. I’m excited to officially be a fully-grown full-time working gal! Oh, but not for too long, because…
I’m starting law school applications!
Right now, I’m really thinking I want to matriculate to law school next fall. It’s not a done deal, but I’m definitely applying this cycle. As such, I’m currently in the process of writing my personal statement, as well as collecting letters of recommendation and revamping my resumé.
I’m almost done with my CPT!
This time in between finishing my study abroad program and starting my job was actually really productive for me – I’m about 2/3 of the way through with my NASM personal trainer certification, and I’m scheduling my exam for sometime next month. I haven’t nailed down exactly what I want to do with my certification – I’ve been considering online coaching or actually getting a side job at a gym, but I haven’t made any solid decisions yet. For now, I love being able to apply the knowledge to my own workouts and to the content I produce for all of you.
And finally, some things I’m loving:
- Movies: Love Simon is the cutest thing ever (I know I’m way late to the game, I always am when it comes to movies.)
- Books: I binge-read The Rules Do Not Apply by Ariel Levy. And The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith before that. You can keep up with me on Goodreads as well!
- Music: I’ve been digging acoustic covers lately, so you better believe I have a Spotify playlist for that. I also regularly make monthly playlists if you wanna keep up with what I’m listening to currently.
Life’s been a whirlwind for me lately, and I’m so incredibly excited for all of it. And through it all, I’m still loving using this platform to talk about my passions, so continue to keep an eye out for new blog posts from me every Monday, and new videos every Wednesday/Thursday.
xo, Taylor
Oh my god, GIRL! YOU. ARE. KILLING. IT. This life thing – you are crushing it! Congratulations on graduating. That is HUGE in and of itself. It takes time and effort to complete a degree, not to mention passion. Hell, it takes a BUCKET of passion to go back and study something like law, too. I wish you all the luck with your applications. I’m 100% sure you’ll get in somewhere great! As for everything else…Well, GIIIIIRL. This is the first blog post I’ve chosen to read and you’ve blown me away…and motivated me to get my ass into gear. Dang, I need to come back here more often!
Well done, keep it up and kick some ass!
