I ran an Instagram poll last week about people’s preferred format of favorites posts, and it seems that blog posts won out! So that’s what we’re doing.
July has been… arguably the wildest month of my life. I moved from Georgia to DC, and I started working full-time. A lot of this month has been about this transition, and about adjusting to my new life. Which explains my first favorite…
DC in general
I’ve known, since last summer, that I wanted to come back to DC after graduation. I actually didn’t apply to any jobs that weren’t based in DC, that’s how passionate I was about ending up here. There’s something about this city in particular that I love – it just feels lively and smart (even if not all the people in the government are, haha). I’m just so happy to be back.
My giant mirror
When I first moved into my apartment – I’m not even joking – the only real piece of furniture I had was a massive mirror. Even my bed was missing a piece of hardware and couldn’t be put together yet, so the massive mirror was the only thing I had to work with. Luckily, I’ve got the rest of my apartment put together now, but my mega-mirror is still one of my favorite features of the room (and it’s great for my Insta game).
Tie-front t-shirts
I live for comfy-cute style, and I’m currently really digging the trend of t-shirts with a cute little knot in the front. It’s just enough to make a t-shirt and jean shorts the tiniest bit more interesting.
Longchamp Le Pliage
I’ve had my Longchamp for over two years, so it’s not like I just discovered this product. More accurately, it’s that I’ve discovered just how useful this bag is. I take the Metro to and from work every day, which requires a little bit of walking. And it’s been super rainy in DC lately, to the point that an umbrella is only somewhat useful. So my Longchamp has basically saved my life (and my iPad/bullet journal) on multiple occasions.
Mamma Mia 2
Oh my goodness this movie was so good. From the way the two storylines are connected to the one time Meryl shows up (and 100% makes you bawl your eyes out), this entire movie is 10/10. Would highly recommend it if you’re looking for something cute and fluffy to boost your mood.
Harry Potter characters as vines
Just watch it. You’ll thank me later.
And that’s all for July! I also discovered, as I was writing this post, that this officially marks a full year of favorites posts (because WordPress got mad at me for attempting to name this post “July Favorites”). So that’s exciting.

Yay welcome to DC! I’ve lived here since 2008 when I moved here for college and just haven’t left! If you ever need restaurant or bar recommendations, let me know and I’ll be sure to provide! :]
