As longtime readers might recall, I collab’ed with Smile Brilliant last year and tested out their whitening trays. That post will always hold a bit of a special place in my heart – it was the first time I’d ever worked with a brand before, which was a huge deal for me at the time. I also loved the product – I still use it to this day. So when Smile Brilliant contacted me again about their new electric toothbrush, I was all too eager to try it.
But first, some background
I’ll admit, I’m pretty cheap when it comes to toothbrushes. I usually find myself buying whatever inexpensive multipack of brushes catches my eye in the drugstore – if I’m feeling particularly daring, I might even go all out one of those half-electric toothbrushes (that are still the type to be sold in a multipack). I didn’t really think it made all that much of a difference what kind of toothbrush I was using.
Let me tell you, it DOES
So, there’s all sorts of fun data related to the regular versus electric toothbrush debate – for example, electric toothbrushes remove up to seven times more plaque than a normal toothbrush does. But the real difference is in the feel; I swear it feels like a dentist-level clean every time I brush my teeth now, which is a game-changer. The CariPRO in particular comes with five different settings – clean, white, massage, gum care, and sensitive – that all work at different speeds, depending on your sensitivity level and desired effect. Personally, I find that I really like using the white setting in the morning, and the clean setting at night.
What you get
The package on the Smile Brilliant website comes with the brush, the charging port, and an extra brush head. The toothbrush and stand are both super sleek, so they actually look really good sitting on your countertop, unlike some electric toothbrushes out there. The whole package comes out to $119. But once you’ve bought the brush itself, the replacement heads are super inexpensive – think $13 for two heads (aka, not that much more than cheap drugstore toothbrushes). Plus, you can get 20% off your order when you use the code espressoandambition20!
The final verdict
It’s definitely an investment to get a toothbrush like this, as compared to the cheap ones you can grab off the shelf of your local drugstore. The difference in the level of clean, however, is pretty dramatic – if you’ve got the money and want to make an investment in your health (which is the best investment you can make, let’s be real), then it’s 100% worth the price tag.
Happy brushing!
