Welcome to holiday shopping season! Or, more accurately, gift guide season, if you’re like me and your social media feeds consist almost entirely of bloggers. I am, quite obviously, joining in on that trend – but I’m also hoping that I’ve come up with some gift guide themes that are a little more out-of-the-box. Meaning, we’re going a bit more niche than some gift guides of years past.
Today’s theme: Harry Potter. It’s well-timed given the release of the new Fantastic Beasts movie (which I have thoughts about, but I’m not going to turn this into a movie review post haha), so a Potter-themed Christmas present is perfect for the super-fan in your life.
Ring | I actually have this Alex & Ani ring and wear it every day. It’s the perfect little stylish accessory that’s got the iconic HP symbol on it; it’s also available in silver, if that’s more your cup of tea.
Pillow | The entire PB Teen Harry Potter collection is incredible, but I have a total soft spot for throw pillows. They’re super easy to buy for someone, because what bed couldn’t use an extra throw pillow? I firmly believe that there’s no such thing as too many throw pillows, and I love the phrase on this one.
Jacket | Who knew Hot Topic still had cute stuff? Not me! But this denim jacket is definitely on the cuter end of Harry Potter merch (and that’s coming from someone who owns a lot of it), and they’ve got it for all four houses. My favorite detail is actually the lining of the jacket, because it’s got the defining traits of your Hogwarts house on the neckline.
Mug | Much like pillows, I am firmly of the belief that you can never own too many mugs. This one is adorable – I love the indented metallic lightning bolt.
Jewelry Stand | More from the PB Teen collection! Honestly, I vaguely considered just throwing the entire collection onto this gift guide and calling it a day. These Quidditch hoops make for a surprisingly effective jewelry holder – the different heights are perfect for accommodating necklaces of all different lengths.
Journal | Everyone can always use a new notebook, and the white and gold pattern of this one paired with all the major Harry Potter spells makes this one stand out. Pair it with a cute set of HP-themed pens, and you’ve got a perfect gift.
Scarf | (I made sure to use a non-Gryffindor scarf here for the sake of Hogwarts house diversity.) House scarves are honestly the ultimate piece of Harry Potter fan gear. Not to mention, it’s super practical as the weather gets colder and scarves become a necessity. You can buy the official ones from the Universal Harry Potter site, but honestly, you can save a ton of money by ordering one from Amazon.
Makeup Bag | I love the sparkles on this – add glitter to a Harry Potter item and you’ve definitely got a winner.
Coloring Book | Perfect for the friend who needs something to entertain themselves with, and it serves a double purpose in that you can hang the finished pages as art.
Niffler | The niffler is 100% the best part of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and I stand by that. This little stuffed Niffler is precious, and such a perfect stocking stuffer gift. (I mean, really, imagine waking up on Christmas morning and seeing that little face peeking out the top of your stocking.)
Illustrated Collection | If you’re shopping for a mega-fan, odds are they probably own the books. But they may not own the illustrated collection, and these are absolutely gorgeous. This is especially perfect for the HP fan that’s just become or is about to become a new parent, because it turns Harry Potter into their new bedtime story.
Pen | More house pride! This is just a gorgeous little goodie from Harrod’s, that’s perfect for the stationery-obsessed.
Bracelet | Because Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.
Happy holiday shopping! I’ll be making two more of these in the coming weeks, so I’ll see you then!
xo, Taylor
