I feel like I say this every month but… what. a. month. No, seriously – November may take the cake for the most eventful month of 2018. Actually, wait, I graduated college and moved cities this year… so I take it back. But still – between the midterm elections, an insane amount of interviews, a week in Florida with my family, the end of my current job, and my 22nd birthday, it’s been a pretty wild ride.
But beyond all of that, let’s dive into my favorite things from the month.
Urban Decay Naked Heat palette
Despite owning a borderline-absurd amount of eyeshadow palettes, I really didn’t become the type of person to wear eyeshadow on a daily basis until recently. And I’m a huge fan of warmer tones, so this palette is literally everything I dreamed of and more. It’s full of really rich rust colors that are perfect for the crease and outer corner (wow, look at me, sounding all beauty guru-ish) and I’ve fallen in love with it.
PLT off-the-shoulder sweatshirt
It’s officially cold enough here that I can’t wear just my sports bra and leggings on my trek to and from the gym (realistically, it’s been like that for a while, but I’m stubborn). I love this cute sweatshirt because it still shows off my cute gymwear but saves me from completely freezing to death. It’s also got some fun 80’s vibes, and I’m really into that for no apparent reason.
Peet’s dark chocolate orange mocha
This is now the second month in a row that a Peet’s drink has made it onto my favorites list, and I regret absolutely nothing. I didn’t realize I loved this combo until I tried the drink, and oh my goodness it is amazing. The tartness of the orange with the espresso and chocolate is just a fantastic combination – 10/10 would recommend for a slightly off-the-beaten-path holiday beverage.
Thick headbands
I really think my signature hairstyle at this point is just a giant messy bun with a cute thick headband to hold it all up. The fun side effect of bleaching my hair is that I vaguely resemble an egg when my hair’s pulled up, but adding a headband alleviates that somehow? Or at least makes me look like a colorful egg?
Harry Potter star tattoos
Back in mid-November, one of my best friends from college came to visit me in DC, and we did the most basic thing possible – we got matching tattoos. It was her first and my third, and we both got the stars from the corner of the Harry Potter books on our ribs. For the folks out there keeping score, yes, this means I have two separate HP tattoos. I regret absolutely nothing.
That’s it for November – now bring on the holiday spirit!
xo, Taylor
